LACHON has worked closely with our program and provided excellent training on PEP/PREP usage, HIV 101, strategies for making effective referrals, how to set professional boundaries while conducting outreach, both verbal and non-verbal communication and active listening. Training LACHON offers CHW training on Core Competencies and other health related topics. Core Competencies are the knowledge and skills a person needs in order to do his or her job well.

LACHON Virtual Training Louisiana Community Health Outreach Network and LSU Health Sciences offer a 40-hour virtual training for Organizations that are in need of having individuals trained as CHWs in the state of Louisiana. Membership in LACHON is open to anyone who works as a paid or volunteer community health workers, as well as any other professionals who support community health worker.
